6 ways to get the most out of your bubbles this summer

If the last few days are anything to go by, summer has definitely arrived! We may be biased but we think the best tipple on a hot summer day is a gorgeous sparkling wine. If you agree, read on to find out our 6 ways to make the most of your fizz this summer!

Ice, ice baby

Different grapes and wine blends have different serving temperatures, for example, a sparkling wine’s ideal temperature is 45° therefore should be kept in the fridge for a good 5 hours (we will pause here and let you go and stock up the fridge) or if you can’t wait that long, stick it in the freezer for 40 minutes or ice bucket for 25 minutes.

Keep your wine cool without diluting it by using frozen grapes instead of ice cubes. Plus, you’ll have a nice boozy snack afterwards while (drunkenly) boasting about getting your five a day.

Chill and go

As soon as the sun comes out, impromptu BBQ’s seem to happen in minutes and if you’re the one with the ‘nice’ garden (or the only one who has a garden) you may need to chill the vino pronto! Wrap a damp cloth around the bottle and place it in the fridge for 30 minutes or freezer for 15 mins, et viola! Perfectly chilled fizz.

Even if we do say so ourselves, sparkling wine is a hit in the summer! You can drink it earlier than most wine – (aka brunch) and there are so many beautiful summer cocktails that can be made using simple ingredients…here are some we made earlier.

Bare with us…when it’s hot and the fizz is cold we want to keep it that way right? Wine in the bottle keeps colder than in your glass. And you get to enjoy it for longer! – save the guzzling for winter.

Don’t leave fizz in the car

Prosecco Grapes

Make sure you never leave wine in the car on a hot day. Heat can damage a wine in a few minutes…and no, cracking a window won’t suffice.
