The tradition of drinking champagne to mark celebrations originated in the royal courts of Europe prior to 1789, where the expensive drink was viewed as a status symbol. These days we still seem to reserve fizz for ‘special occasions’ but times are a-changing! Here are five reasons we think you should go and grab those bubbles, immediately…like right now…
1. It’s important to celebrate the simple pleasures in life.
Birthdays, anniversaries, weddings; all big milestones in life that are definitely worth popping open the fizz. However it is the day-to-day pleasures that keep us going each day – the midweek happy hour after work, the long boozy brunch on a Saturday with friends…surely the things that make us smile on a daily basis are worth raising a glass (or two) too.
2. You can get fabulous fizz at a good value!
Not all sparkling wine or even champagne cots the earth these days! Especially if you were to join the Bubble club where you get two delicious, high quality bottles of bubbles, a selection of tasty, gourmet treats AND a members magazine for a mere £32.99 either monthly or bi-monthly! All in all – something to celebrate!
3. It makes everything fancy
Picture this: your sat in a pub with your mates on an ordinary Saturday evening, so far, so normal? Add a bottle of fizz to the table and BOOM! Saturday night in the pub just got a whole load fancier! Waiting around at the airport for your (delayed) flight to the Costa del Sol? Pop to the airport bar and order yourself a glass of bubble and you’ll immediately feel like you are in first class!
4. The bubbles!
Bubbles are fun. As kids we blow them and chased them around the garden, bubble baths sooth and relax us, Jacuzzi’s and hot tubs are, well, just fun! Watching bubbles rise in a glass of fizz has a calming effect and the way they pop and fizz in our mouths…it’s just fun! Why wait until Christmas we say!
5. Life is too short
We never know what is round the next corner and what life has in store for us so it is important to Carpe diem! Who wants to look back on life and wonder ‘what if I had enjoyed myself more?’ So pop that cork and enjoy this fabulous drink, no matter what day of the week, month of the year or little pleasure you are celebrating today! Cheers!
