This honeycomb chocolate will make your mouth water

Once upon a time, Cadbury’s was a family-run business with deeply-held principles. But these days, the beloved British institution is dancing to an altogether more corporate tone – and James, the founder’s great-great-great grandson, is setting things right with a venture of his very own.
James Cadbury, the founder and CEO of Love Cocoa, wears his ambition for all to see. It’s hard not too, when that ambition is in his very name.
James is the great-great-great grandson of John Cadbury, the Quaker shopkeeper who founded one of the UK’s most beloved chocolate brands in mid-19th century Birmingham. That company was founded on a set of values that John held dear: respect for employees, commitment to charity and keeping jobs in the UK.
The Cadbury family was no longer involved in running the organisation when an American company took over the Cadbury Chocolate Company in 2010, but James still took the transition personally. So, he set up Love Cocoa, the chocolatiers behind the delicious Milk Chocolate and Honeycomb bar in September’s Bubble Box.
As he explains, “We want to make British chocolate great again! Inspired by my great-great-great grandfather, here at Love Cocoa we handmake delicious, organic bars in Britain using early Cadbury principles.”
For James, that means making good chocolate and doing good in the world as well. He says, “We give back, donating some of our profits to charity, and we’re in talks with a rainforest charity fighting against deforestation, which is so important to us.”
But while Love Cocoa has a passion for making the world a better place, they’re not afraid to indulge. The beautiful chocolate bar in September’s Bubble Box, with its honey-sweetness and refined flavour, is the height of chocolate perfection. It all starts with the finest chocolate from the Dominican Republic, which meets honeycomb made with honey from somewhere unexpected, and a lot closer to home: London!
James says, “We live and work in London, so obviously the city has a huge influence on what we do. We love going to different food markets and trying new flavours, which inspires new chocolate bar flavours. We also love keeping an eye on up-and-coming designers to work with on our packaging.”
The London honey in this chocolate bar has one more amazing feature: with its floral and Champagne flavours, it makes your Love Cocoa bar a perfect partner for a cold glass of sparkling wine. Alongside fizz is James’s favourite way to enjoy this delicious chocolate and honeycomb bar, and we’re sure it will be yours, too!
